In this article, we will be discussing the remaining two types of garment trims and accessories (Decorative and Finishing Accessories). The first type, basic accessories was discussed already in our previous article. The reason to break this topic into two separate parts was that the article might be too lengthy and the intent behind this effort would be wasted. 

• Decorative Accessories

The decorative accessories are intended to increase the garment's appearance so that the garment looks more attractive. There are different types of decorative accessories namely,

• Piping

Piping is simply a narrow strip of fabric that is used on the edge of the fabric to highlight the borders. 

• Buttonhole Tape

Buttonhole tape is a smart way to stitch buttons onto the fabric. The tape helps reduce the risk of tearing of fabric, as well as the accuracy of the button length remains the same.

• Ribbed Tape

Ribbed tape is used as a decorative feature on the fabrics, popularly known to be used on trousers.

• Moire Ribbon

• Pompom

Pompom is a small woolen ball attached to a garment.

• Soutache

Soutache is a narrow, flat braid used in trimming garments. Its main purpose is to conceal the seam. It comes in different styles and designs. 

• Tassel

• Fringe

Fringe is also a decorative trim that is used more often on the hem. Fringe is also of two different types, namely,

Bullion Fringe

Thread Fringe

• Galloon

• Finishing Accessories

Finishing materials are mainly non-fabric materials. This type of accessories is used in the garment finishing section. The different types of finishing accessories are as follows,

 Hand tag, Polybag, Tissue paper, Plastic clip, Backboard, Neck board, Carton

Carton varies in different sizes, it totally depends on the size of the garment as well as the type of garment.
